I have a minivan that I bought fixed up and going to sell.

The check engine light is on, and is a code P0466. It won't pass IM but is a minor problem.

I'm probably going to have the purge solenoid replaced tommarow for $100 bucks.

Should I just take the repair off the price or try and fix it?

Thanks

Probable causes
1. Purge or vent solenoids defective
2. Check connector and wiring
3. Fuel saturated vapor canister
4. Failed EVAP vent solenoid

I would take it in. It's not easy work. You can't go wrong with the professional repair. Just make sure you let them know that you know the causes. Write them down. Some mechanics will try to bleed you for more money.

Try and fix it. $100 bucks is alot of money
Go to local library and get the Chilton repair manual for your model and year.. GL
