I'm a fourteen-year-old female, and I don't play a sport. This is due to the fact that I'm in middle school, and we have these for sport choices: cheer leading, softball, basketball, and lacrosse. I refuse to cheer - I don't have the time, and I've never fancied the idea of doing routine dances. Softball involves catching, throwing, and running fast in short distances - I can catch with some work, and I wouldn't be a bad throw if I tried, but I'm not fast over short distances. Basketball, I was good at. I didn't like it enough to work for it, though. Lacrosse...just no.
Next year, I'll be able to do track team, long distance. But will this be enough to keep me in shape? I'm a writer - soon to be published - and spend much of my time reading or writing on my books. I don't want to break into my writing time; I love it so much. In the warmer seasons, I will also be trying to work with my horse, barrel racing, pole bending, and the like. I'm not overweight - 5'4" and 130 pounds - but I know I could weight 120 or 115, if I wanted to. I only drink water, juice, or kool-aid. I eat until I'm fool, not the unhealthy bloated feeling I hate. And, lately, I've been trying to eat only 1500 calories a day, but with school food, it's hard.
Will track next year be enough? What should I do?
