finance a car? Hey guys...
So here's the deal. I'm 17 going to be turning 18 in july and I have a 98 ford escort that I bought for $900. Well not too long ago I slid into a curb when it was icy out and I took it all around seeing about how much it was going to cost to fix it and it averaged about $750. It has over 186k on it, sunroof doesn't work (that's how I got it thinking I'd fix it), master cylinder needs to be replaced ($200), transmission light on, continuously is having overheating problems - when I was driving it, it took a jug of coolant about every week and half (I took it to get a new thermometer and the guy was suppose to fix it but...well the problem hasn't stopped), it has a nice interior/exterior (no dents, scratches, stains), a nice store bought cd player, and other than the things I listed seems reliable but...I was wanting opinions on if I should fix it and keep it but I really don't want to spend that much on it due to how many miles it has and all the other things wrong with it beings that I only spent $900 for it...would it be worth it to fix it cause to me it seems I'd be upside down profit wise because I'd probably only get $500 out of it trade in wise (with me fixing it) and privately probably only $1500 which isn't guaranteed and still wouldn't get me any profit...however if I trade it as is they said they'd only give me $200 for it and then I'd be stuck with payments and I have a good job i work for state farm but I don't know if I should get tangled up in financing at my age but it seems to me it'd be better to make payments on a realible car instead of fixing my own car when it'll probably have something esle go wrong with it. HELP what should I do? I can't stop thinking about it because right now I'm having to have my mom take me back and forth to work and she's showing up late to work likewise I am too. Also I'm definitely not a lucky kid I'll have to pay for everything myself...the car the payments the license plates, sales tax, insurance...so I'm just so confused on the best option. Thanks in advance for your opinion! ~Kara~

You may just waste your money on this car trying to keep fixing it.Have you thought about finding another car without financing it?With what your getting ready to spend I would look at getting a cheap car that's worth fixing before I went all out and got a payment I couldn't afford.Something to think about.

get a good mechanic to go over the whole car and see what they think mileage doesnt always matter.
