What should i do about this situation because i am lost and need guidance?

ok here's the situation. me and my girl have been together 12 months now. i got a letter from our college saying that i am basically kicked out until next semester. she goes back in january and i will be home. now our college is in another city about an hour away. we will be away from eachother for at least four more months. she gets to come home most weekends and breaks and stuff like that though but i am worried this will distance us because of other guys who will try and get in my territiry with her. i want to break it off with her and just say lets go our seperate ways but she is so special to me. she means more than life itself to me and i would do almost anything for her. i would not be able to take it if she was distracted by other guys down there though. we are so used to being together with eachother all the time i am afraid of being apart. should i break it off or fight for our love and chance it. she tells me she does not want to lose me and i am giving up too easily. what should i do?
