What should I do about my nasty bitchy "friends"?

So, my roommate Katie for the fall is not going back to college, which she of course told me after telling at least ten of our other friends first. From this, I have learned that she Katie , and another girl Rachel who I thought I was good friends with, tried to use me and my original roommate Melissa, so that Katie and Rachel could both get better rooms (because we (Melissa and I) have more credits, and thus better housing numbers). Katie and Rachel have been condescending and nasty. What should I do now?
