I just found out about 2 weeks ago that all my orthodontic work might've been for nothing!
I have my top wisdom teeth out, which are fine but the bottom one's are impacted and will NEVER break the skin's surface.
It cost $800 to remove them and $1800 with anesthesia. My dad says his never broke the skin too, were impacted, and that NOTHING ever happened to him. My mom on the other hand had them the same as my dad and I, got them PAINFULLY yanked out with just regular topical stuff, and she seriously got really ill. It took her MONTHS to get better and so naturally she was irritate to find out they wanted to yank out mine. She says I should just skip it.
Everyone outside my family believes I should have them removed as it'll mess up my straight teeth. My questions are, should I remove them, and won't my retainer hold them in place until I can afford to pay for the anesthesia?
*Whoops meant to say my top wisdom teeth have GROWN out fine.
