18 months ago I went to a lawyer to sponser my father who has been residing in NYC for 26 years. After my mom and him divorced she had to cancel her app 2 sponser him so this is his second time applying. The lawyer told him he should recieve a new working permit within six months of our application. My dad signed him a check for all these forms the lawyer said he will purchase and fill. After more than a year we have no word from immigration, working permit, or proof this lawyer has done any of the things he said he would. It feels like we just stopped by his office 2 give him almost 10 grand for an early xmas present. When my dad calls him he refuses to give him info because he`s not the sponser. What should I do? My dad is going crazy cuz he is unemployed and having to refuse job offers! Thanks in advance for your aswers.
