okay so here is the deal (I will update the question tomorrow at some point with more specific details of the system itself. ) I have a small amount of money, lets say $200. I am in a fraternity. I am one of the few people that actually understands the importance of having your sound system/lights setup in the proper order. right now we have one BIG room ( 30'x'50'15 ) that we use to house a " Dj booth " and there are also two speakers attached to the ceiling.
The Dj booth has two working components-
1. a Gemeni mpx dual mp3 cd player/ mixer ( red/white component output)
2. ( I need to check on the name tomorrow) two channel mixer. ( 2 channel component inputs, with each channel having 2 inputs? (maybe phono and something else... I will check tomorrow) and it has one main output ( component as well) and one headphone output.
The speakers are okay, but they don't really have much of a bass to them, and they are also hung from the ceiling ( is this good for sound...?)
I guess the point I am trying to get at here and explain is that everything we have WORKS.... well enough so that no one really cares enough to fix it. I hback roundaknowledgeknowlege to either
a. rebuild the dj stand because its kinda shitty anyway and just keep the components that we have already b. keep the stand and put money into the speakers/lights/etc.... c. combination of both???
Like i said before... I have about 200+ dollars so reconstructing it would be well under that cost for lumber and supplies... but is that going to buysufficientufficent, durable, lighting or speakers that are worth putting in the house?
Also given my current setup what is the best way to connect and ipod, the mixer, and the speakers?
one last question- Is it possible to take a regular subwoofer...one that uses regular black and red wires and somewhat easily ( just using adapters) encorperate it into this setup?
