i really want to become a pilot. 1i first thought about going to college for engineering then serving in the military for four years and hopefully become a pilot. but i would have to qualify for a rotc scholarship in order to pay for college,
i did some thinking and realized i really want to be a pilot and i only want to go into the military for money for college.2 i am now planning to go to a state school to get a bachelor of aviation science and become a pilot. i am planning on joining the air national guard for six years for college money. the thing is my mom is pissed because she believes 3 i can get into a academy with a gpa of only 3.3, 50 hours of community service and i play football wrestling and track. what should i do out of these three options

Well if you want to be a pilot, you definitely need a degree as you know. I strongly advise you though, just because you get a degree doesn't mean you are going to be a pilot. If you were to get an engineering degree, there is a strong chance that the Air Force will pull you to be an engineer in the Air Force. This is what happened to one of our Lt's here. Just understand that without a degree you won't fly anything. Oh, and 3.3 GPA = slim to none, but why not try? If you have any questions just e-mail me because I know plenty of people trying to do this.

***Also, the Air Force is taking nearly half of their new pilots and making them unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) pilots. You pretty much sit in a cubicle stateside and fly a predator, reaper, or global hawk overseas...
