Ok so im applying for financial aid and was wondering what everyone thought was a better idea. Should i have my mom count me on her income taxes this year based on 55K a year or should i go on my own and have no income, living with someone that makes 30K and has one kid already? My mom and dad are seperated so its either i go on my moms taxes to try and get financial aid or i go on my friends income which he is going to say he lets me stay with him and his kid and that i dont work. Im trying to find a loop hole or find out of two which is best so i can get financial aid due to my mom having to raise 3 kids on bankruptcy with no help from dad due to economy......thanks for response's and help! : )

If you are filing the FASFA and you are under 24, it really won't matter... They will automatically take your parents income into consideration... (it sucks, I know)

FAFSA asks for your social security number, provided by a company that has your entire superficial life in a database. You should not lie to the FAFSA. They WILL find out if you are living with your mother, as they will check all of the information provided by you with the tax department and you mother will not be able to put you as a dependent in the tax income return, and will have less exemptions from the tax, so will end up paying a lot more to the government. Good Luck.
