So I have a 10 gallon freshwater fish tank. I got my water tested at Petco about a month and a half ago and at that time until present I do not have fish in there. Their results showed that the Ph level in my fish tank is high and not even on their charts. I have been trying to fix it with Ph lowering fluid stuff and this has done nothing and had no change. I decided that maybe replacing 8 of the 10 gallons would bring it down but so far it has done nothing. By the way I bought home water testing strips. Does anybody have any suggestions for me I'm pretty new at this but I know not to get any fish until I get the Ph down. I don't really know what else to do anymore. Anyone who has experience???
My Ph is pretty high like 8.6 and I have no idea how it got this high. They are those testing strips that you did in the water I think thats what Petco used too. I'm not really sure though and ya they showed us the results. I don't really know where else to go besides Petco.
yes I'm using water conditioner and I'm planning to get mollies because I heard those are pretty easy to care for.
Also what exactly are air stones and are they neccessary. And what type of fish would you recommend for a newbie like me?
