My essay is arguing that Homer's Iliad glorifies war. I wrote the introduction, but I'm not sure how I should organize the rest. Should the next paragraph immediately jump into my points and include quotes, describe the Iliad, etc?
This is my introduction (first sentence is universal statement, last is thesis):
An epic poem is most commonly defined as a long, narrative poem about a hero and his great deeds. Homer's Iliad is one of the oldest and most legendary of epic poems. It originates in Greece, where the definition of a hero is an individual with bravery, leadership qualities and flaws which they overcome. The main character of the Iliad, Achilles, is the best warrior on the Archean side of the Trojan War. He fits the qualities that the Greeks consider to belong to a hero. Therefore, Homer viewed war in a positive light, believing great heroes to result from war.
