What should be done about a paint problem on the rear bumper of a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu?

My parents have had this green 1998 chevrolet malibu for eleven years. The car has held up well, and after some repairs it still runs like new. The one issue is the rear bumper, which has a worn paint sorta look to it. It might've happened when it was taken to a shop to be buffed but I'm not entirely sure. My question is, what should be done about this? Should it be repainted? Is there something I can do to it myself without taking it to a shop? It is of course purely for looks, but I was just wondering, Thanks.

i would paint it. but paint the whole car. a 11 year old car will need some tlc and besides u will never get the paint to match exactly right.

If it is worn through, the best way to fix it is to have it repainted. They should charge you 1 hour to R&I the cover and 1 1/2 hours to refinish it. Good Luck!
