My sis and Bro in law had "God Bless the Broken Road" (they have had a rough life up to meeting each other) and it fit them both so well.
My wedding 'first dance' song was "I Knew I loved You (Before I met you)" by Savage Garden because my husband and I have been 'meeting' each other at different places and times all through out our lives before we officially met. The first time we met was when I was 11 and he was 13, we met at a play ground in the town we both lived in and really hit it off well. But his family moved to California for 3-4 years and we forgot about each other. Then they moved back and he delivered a pizza to our house (when he wasn't supposed to; he should have been off that day) and I was so smitten with his charm that I accidentally gave him a 20 dollar tip (I was 14, he was 16) and my parents were mad! Then after I had broken up with a bf, that bf was dating a frined of mine and said he had some one for me to meet...guess who it was! It was the one night all of his friends were out of town or other wise he'd have turned my old bf down (they weren't really close friends at the time) It's all been a twist of fate! And all that time of meeting him over the years I never found out his name.
We are the absolute perfect match for each other...somehow fate brought us together...that's why we chose our song.
Your song should reflect the most important aspects of the both of you, whether it was when/how you knew you were meant to be...what brought you together (like in my sister's case) or something of that nature.

My best advice is to dance to it before you tell the DJ to play it at the wedding!! My hubby and I loved "In Your eyes" by Peter Gabriel, but it was the LONGEST SONG EVER!!!! By like the 5th minute I was ready for a cut!
