I have a 2007 acura rdx that has a turbocharged long-stroke i4 engine producing about 211 peak hp at the wheels (engine redlines at 6800). The long-stroke configuration coupled with drop of boost at higher rpms gives peak horsepower at 5000rpm. now my question is since the engine generates less horsepower at higher RPM, isn't it wiser to shift earlier at 5-5.5k rpm instead to improve acceleration? thanks in advance
