My initial thought was a 10 RKC because you get wires, cruise, ABS, security and a 103". Then I saw you were going used so if you can swing it, go for an 09. You get the new frame and brakes and if you find the right one, you can get all the options the 10 offers minus the catalytic converter. The 103" part may be hard to find on an 09 because it would be aftermarket but you can get everything else from the factory.
 
Depends entirely on what you want and how much you want to spend. My opinion is get as new as you can afford. '09 or newer gets you the latest chasis design, etc. I recently bought an '08 because I got exactly want I wanted as far as color and combination of options. But there are a lot of good deals out there on used '09s with low miles.
 
I like my 07 a lot, if you're looking for used try and find one that someone already spent the farm on doing all the nice upgrades as you can get good deals on those and it saves you a ton of money.
 
I've owned a RK and a RKC and I prefer the looks of the Classic. I love the whitewalls and the leather bags. I found a two-tone Classic that I really like and haven't found a bike I like better. But there's no bad choice in the group. Find a color scheme and a configuration that YOU like and ride the heck out of it. Ride safe.
 
The RKC is my choice. I have the '07 but the one mod will be the bars. There are some good threads about the transmission problems some owners were having. '08 - '09 did fine tune transmission. Still need the bars. I have had no problems and really enjoy the ride. It is comfortable and the ride is smooth.

Just finished cleaning mine up from a long trip.
