What road bike should I get?

Ok so I love to ride my bicycle around everywhere, but i want to get a little more serious so I was wondering what a good entry level road bike would be, and what things I should look for when getting the bike.
 
Lots of decent entry level bikes out there. Look at the Trek 1.2 series to get an idea. Expect to spend at least $700.

Google up road bikes and do as much research as you can. When you think you found a good bike look it up in a blog on the internet and see what other people think about it. Go to a bike shop and ask what kind of bike is good for yourself. Also, keep in mind that the best kind of bike is a custom bike.
