What proof is there that evolution is valid when...?

all cases of natural selection and mutation lose genetic information? I've been carefully researching this, and I'm not a biology expert by any means, but this simply doesn't make sense to me.

On the surface evolution makes sense because we carry physical and genetic traits of previous versions of humans, but according to everything I've read, the original version of the species supposedly had the greatest diversity of genetic information, and what comes after can only be a more specified version that lost information along the way in order to adapt and survive. There is no clear explanation for how a mammal arrived from a reptile or fish, or how a single-celled organism can develop over billions of years into a human.

What process actually took place to combine the genetic information needed to create over time all of these different species?

I've read some comparisons of our complex genetic makeup to the information and processes found in a computer, which is a fair comparison, but my point is that humans build computers; they don't just magically build themselves. There must be some intelligent design along the way that created this genetic makeup because according to what we know today, it doesn't just come together on its own.

If anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated, and please if you have a true knowledge of biology, help me unravel this question because I'm looking for true scientific findings that can explain it, not vague assumptions from the limited amount of evidence that supports your own point of view. Thanks.
