I am working as a medical assistant at the moment, but my true passion is art. I would love to be a concept artist or illustrator for a company - or even freelance work. I am not sure how to go about getting into the field.
I know it is based on your skill, not really your education. But, I would love to have that on a resume - even though it is expensive. I was looking at the Art Institute of Seattle, but they are way too expensive. My alternative is Visual School of Art that is also in Seattle (but they are not accredited.
How do I get started, and where would I go? I would even do sample projects for people to build a portfolio and even do small paying jobs until I get into the career. Any ideas? Can anyone offer any help?
