What prepaid phone?

Hello! I came across these forums while looking for cell phone reviews and am so glad I did. I would love everyone's opinion on prepaid cell phones. The only one that seems to not be in my area is T-Mobile and I would have loved one of them from what I have heard and read. So I was looking into the Alltel Simple Freedom phones, are they any good? I am looking for a phone mainly to have in case of emergency or to have here and there, not to talk on all of the time. So I don't need alot of minutes and would really like a phone I can buy cards for but that will not cancel my phone if it is not used by a certain time, is there such a phone that does that?

Thanks for any help and advice!
Jill

I started off with T-mobile prepaid and liked their service so much I bought a 2-year plan.

With T-mobile, if you spend $100 and buy 1000 minutes worth, they're good for a whole year! After that initial $100, everything you buy after that is also good for 1 year. So even if you buy a cheap $5 or $10 card, it's good for a year. This is perfect for having a phone around for emergency reasons, or for teenage users. And yes, your minutes will roll over. For example, if you buy 1000 minutes on January 1 and only use 50 minutes worth all year, if you purchase 100 more minutes on December 31 (before the year expires), you will now have 1050 minutes that is good for a year.

I would recommend the Nokia 3220 if they still offer that in the prepaid package, or the Nokia 6010 as well. Both solid phones that won't cost you a ton of money. Both have great reception too.
