You are pretty much my size when I was a freshman and I played receiver. I played that position because the coaches put me there. Most likely you will play where they want you to play. BUT speak up and tell them you want to play SAFETY. You are not fast and you're not tall so it would be best for you to play safety. BUT I need more info, do you like defense or offense? Do you like to tackle? Do you like to block? Do you like running routes? Do you like interceptions? Things like that will lead you to the position that best suits you. Just with your height weight and decent speed, you sound like a safety. I know this because thats exactly what I was, Not tall but rather fast, quick, and I could tackle. I played outside linebacker in High School, then switched over to Safety in college.
Have fun with Freshman football, its a good learning experience and your real abilities will show then.
