I am doing a group project on creating a PHP code vending machine. I have this so far.

My job is to change the appearance of this so it looks more like an actual vending machine. I am good with graphics, however I am unsure what code I will need to learn to be able to integrate this code successfully with my graphic ideas.
Any advice, links or suggestions to what code I should use or some good tutorials would be greatly appreciated.
Note that this is due soon and I do not want to have to learn heaps of Php in order to do this. I am just after the bare essentials to change the appearance of this code, yet leave the mechanics behind it the same.
