i usually do portraits and like to be able to capture sunlight and will be doing some senior pictures this winter in the snow, and again in spring and plan to spend my summer picking up on the hobby and going place to take pictures or pictures of my boyfriend skating. I also enjoy going out in the evening for some light graffiti 
i know how to make pictures look good with Picasa 3 which is what i have now, and am using a cannon rebel. but what i want to do is hdr photography, maybe be able to make my pictures look more like bokeh? more blurred in the back and clear main subject up front. i don't want to buy the 1,000 photoshop because i cant afford that
what about photoshop lightroom?
or photoshop elements?
do i buy them by themselves or have to buy another photoshop and add those to it? i've never used photoshop before so please, any advice is welcome!
