What phone fills these requirements:

RRS

New member
Wifi
2MP Camera with nice framerate for smooth video recording
Decent Multimedia capabilities (music and video)
Quad-band
Good battery life (can watch movies without having to worry about if there is enough battery life left for the rest of the day)
Ability to edit office documents (WM6 will have this, so it doesn't have to be a PocketPC, nor do I have to buy that Documents-To-Go program)
Decent Priced Data Plan - I believe T-mobile currently has the cheapest with $30 (or $5.99 with the T-zones proxy tweak)
Non-touch screen preferrably, but not necessary
Full Qwerty keyboard

Is there a phone out there like this?

I really liked the N80 and the Sony Ericsson P990i, but they both had were missing important thing: Qwerty keyboard and quadband, respectively.

First decide which carrier you are going to use. Look at the coverage where you will using the phone - where you live, work, play, travel, etc. Talk to family, friends, co-workers about who they use and how they like it and the coverage. No matter how good or cool or cheap or expensive the phone is, if you don't have coverage, all you have is a paperweight.

If your interested in data plans, first look into the carrier. T-Mobile has the cheapest with the tzones tweak, but the cheapest official data plan are the sero plans from sprint. I pay $30 for unlimited data, 500 min, N&W from 7pm. However no GSM devices will work with sprint, so you have to chose from their selection.

Who do you want to go with? Then what phones can you choose from.

My cousin has the 8525, and it is a pretty impressive phone. I heard they have some kind of $20 data plan, but I'm not sure about that.

And I didn't know that about the sprint phone data plan. Seems like an excellent phone, but then again, I wouldn't want to be limited to only their selections.

Currently, I'm using a Dash with the $5.99 t-zones tweak.

I think what your referring to with the $20 data plan is the cingular 'medianet' plan. basically their plan for all their regular phones is $20 for unlimited 'net' and 200 text messages. If you have a phone with a qwerty keyboard, they consider it a PDA and the cheapest data plan is something like $45. It's pretty easy to work around by walking in to a store with a non-pda phone and saying you want the $20 plan, then putting your SIM card in a PDA. voila! $20 internet!

They offered it to my cousin straight-up. But it was a family plan, so they could have easily just swapped the SIM card.

And does the medianet plan work just as well as the $45 plan?
Also, can't you just sign up online or over the phone and say you want the $20 Medianet plan even if you have a PDA?

there is another post about this on the cingular forum. Basically, cingular employees aren't supposed to sign you up for the $20 plan if they know you have a PDA. But it's really easy to circumvent their 'knowing' things. You can find a handy little guide on how to get yourself on that plan over on the Cingular forum. My favorite option is walking in with your gf/bf/wife's phone and saying, 'I want unlimited internet for this phone on my account'. Then swap SIM cards and voila! money in the bank.
