What Performance parts should i install on my 1998 pontiac firebird v6 (3.8)?

I have a 98 firebird and im looking for a under-the-hood upgrade. I would like this part to make the car noticeably better with more sound from the engine or more power. my budget is about $500 and im just looking for a small little boost.=)
 
Hmm..not a whole lot do do with 500 bucks. You could find a high quality cat-back exhaust that would make the car noticeably louder and more aggressive sounding and might give you 10-12 horsepower.
