What percentage of teens watch/listen to the news?

I keep seeing all these questions about, "I'm 14 and I met a 24 year old man online. I think I love him." Or "I'm 17 and a 30 year old guy online that I met through someone else wants to kill himself." Or "I know it's illegal to date an older guy, but I met this 33 year old hott guy online and he wants to take me on a date. He drives a convertable and he's going to buy me beer!"

Is this an issue of:

a.) Trolls
b.) Parents not warning their kids of the potential dangers to meeting people online
c.) Kids just being stupid and selfish??

I do when im bored and in the morning before school. But now considering that it is summer and i sleep in until about 1:30, not so much.

I say b as it is a parent's responsibility to protect and warn their child of dangers.

I'm only 16 but I've never had this problem.
