i have a 55f freshwater for about 6 months, its cycled and everything, i currently have;
-2 angelfish, each about 4" long
-1 some sort of bass thing, thin but long, wont grow too long, its about 4-5" long right now
-5 painted tetra
-3 yellow tetra (2" long)
-2 neon tetra
-1 shrimp 2" long
-1 baby gourami
-3 bottom feeders
-1 snail
-2 "sucker-fish that are bottom feeders, idk exactly what they r but they r yellowish, "suck" on the glass, and are not the foot long bottom feeders, the plesc--------... one is 3"long and the other is 2

it sounds crowded but it honestly isnt... it looks like there arent even fish in there... i do frequent water changes (once a week) and have a marineland 350 filter, so its enough. What other fish should i add, im going to a big fish store on sunday? Thx! plz no bottom feeders and no fish under 2" long but no more thaan 6", NO AGGRESSIVE FISH!
bought 2 cichlids just like that i think they were african or w/e).. both died .. they were so scared and timid the 1st week i couldnt get them 2 eat..

you can get a lot of diffrent kinda my favriote i have in my tank is a Pencil fish very good fish you can get diffrent fish i wuld toltaly recommend a (Astyanax mexicanus) The Mexican tetra or Blind Cave Fish. Anostomus ternetzi there very good fish as well i like em i also have a few blue rams but there very fragile well good luck and chose widley and don't pic anything to aggresive. I would tell you more things i have but it take thousands of words pce and good luck

ive been looking at some fire mouth chiclids for my tank. they arnt aggresive at all unless u have a male and female and its around breeding season. it said they could live with smaller fish so yeah. look em up. their cool

If it "looks like there aren't even fish in there", it's probably just right. You can't keep fish for long in the overcrowded conditions you see in pet stores. Some of the fish you have can grow quite large. Many gouramis grow to 8 inches or more, and plecostomus (which is what those unknown "sucker fish" may be) can reach 12 to 18 inches. You always need to take the adult size into consideration when stocking a tank. You may already have all your tank can handle, or more than it can handle if all of those bottom feeders grow to a foot or more.
