mental health illnesses? I am doing a presentation on how mental health nurses should communicate to their patients. I have the obvious points such as don't stereotype and use facial gestures, but not to be intimidating and consider the patients point of view.
It would be helpful if a person suffering from a mental health illness could say how they would and wouldn't like to be communicated to by their nurse/doctor/psychologist/psychiatrist.
It would also be helpful if anybody knows of specific resources which are used in any type of mental illnesses. For example, with a person who is blind, braille can be used. what can be used to aid communication with mental health patients?
thankyou to everyone who takes the time to share their information.
(By the way, i'm not cheating in homework, i have been asked by my teacher to get real people's and real sufferer opinions.)
