What mountain bike should I get?

So, I don't have a very large budget. I am 17 and only have about less than $200 to spend ($200 would be pushing it big time). I just need a bike to get around town when I go to college next year. I will be living in a a place with a lot of hills and mountains (North California, Oregon, or Washington) so I need a durable mountain bike. I have never bought a bike before so I need a lot of help. I am willing to buy new or used but I just need help. I am 5'5", 17 year old female. I don't know bike brands or qualities so I just need some input. If you know of a good bike please let me know.
