I've written a little over 100 poems; all in my established old fashioned style which has been misunderstood. I've stayed my ground throughout poetry classes as professionals slashed my style but I maintained with a little success.
I've been distributing my poetry all over, I've had three published but after all is said and done I'm not happy with what I have. I just want people to appreciate what I'm doing in sticking to my values.
I've accepted I'm always going to be second best because of what is more accepted when it comes to the poetry field. It's not defeat that I'm feeling, just exasperation. Could anyone shed light on what I should do?
