What might cause a cylinder misfire in a Toyota Camry?

I started my car and it sounded like it was missing bad. I drove it a bit but then put it back in the driveway. The engine light was on, I read the code and it was P0301 (cylinder misfire detected). Could a cylinder misfire be caused by a bad plug?, a bad ignition wire?, a bad fuel injector?, or any of the above? Or something else? The Camry is a '97 with about 140,000 miles. thanks
