About 8 days ago I began having sharp pains in my lower left rib and in the area just below that area of the ribs when coughing. Certain movements and deep breaths would slightly increase the pain but any coughing or sneezing would make the pain spike to about a 8 out of 10. The area feels sore in general now even when not moving and the pain when coughing is about 10 now. As of today (day 8) the pain has spread around to my lower back (along the rib area). I have had no trouble with bowel movements and my urine color is light yellow as always and with no change in frequency. I am unsure if the coughing is the cause of it because I have generally been a "coughy" person my whole life due to my sinuses and have never had this problem before. It's become very painful and is really wearing on me.
What might be causing sharp pain in my lower left rib and back?
