  • When the writing Stops beeing good
  • When they let the Storyline fall without explanation
  • When the Storyline gets boring and the writers have no idea
  • When my Favourite Character dies
  • When the Series has to many logic holes

  • Recycled story lines
  • Favorite couples being treated like they never existed
  • Crappy writing
  • Over used characters
  • Annoying characters taking up the screen with my favorite characters
  • Favorite characters leaving
  • Couples I hate dominating the show
  • Silly and useless story lines
  • Killing off my favorite characters
  • Adding additional characters that are pointless
  • Many many more reasons too.........

Here are some shows I stopped watching and why:

ER:

There is only so much I can take of my favorite characters being killed off. I didn't mind all the characters that left and the ones that came on because they were all interesting and enjoyable to watch. But first they killed Lucy, killing along with it the best potential romance with Carter, then they killed Dr. Greene, then my last straw was when they killed off Dr. Romano, who was my favorite character EVER! Seriously? I was done.

One Tree Hill:

Almost every reason I mentioned above and MORE is why I stopped watching this one. Even though I was a HUGE Peyton/Jake and Brooke/Lucas fan, I think the show pretty much hit it's highest point in Season Two and just got really horrible after season 4. I mean there wasn't really any good highlights I can say about Season 5 which was the last season I watched. I just hated how the whole show changed over just a few seasons.

House M.D.:

I know it's not fair to say this but the only reason I really stopped watching was because I cannot stand Cuddy. She is probably the only character I've ever hated with a fiery passion. There is NOTHING good I can say about her. There is nothing I like about the character there is nothing I can tolerate about her. And when they started putting her in more scenes with my favorite character? (Which would be House.) That was the end for me. Yuck.

When the writing stops being good, when it gets too repetitive, when I already know what's coming, when there's too much drama for one character only and I feel like the writers are telling me to feel sorry for that character and consider him/her a hero, when the cast changes too much, etc etc etc, there are several reasons that can make me stop watching a show

Two shows that I stopped watching after many seasons were ER and CSI. It's sad cause I really LOVE both shows, specially the early seasons. With ER, what happened was that they changed the entire cast - if you change the entire cast, you make a new show, imo. So if you watch season 1 and season 15, they are total different shows, imo, and I don't like that - I mean, at one point they even stopped playing the opening credits with the show's theme song, how absurd was that?? :irked: :pout:
With CSI, what happened was the cast thing as well, half the originals left already, but I think what happened there to me, really, was that I got tired of it, like I said above, it got too repetitive, I already knew what was coming, nothing really surprised me anymore, and I started to get bored

Thanks for moving this thread to the right place mods.

Loved reading your reasons everybody. I stop watching when a character I love leaves, when they start with love triangles, I loathe them, that's why I stopped caring who ends up with Kate on Lost and also stopped watching that show when it got too ridiculous. Then I stop watching when my fave characters start acting OOC for the sake of love triangles or plots. It usually has to do with the characters I love the most.

When characters youve watched for years start acting completely out of character or say and do things they would never do..
or the will they wont they get together thing goes on so long you just dont care anymore
Or when your favorite character gets killed off...

I usually try to not to give up on a tv show. I try to give it a chance, because I can usually find something I enjoy about the show/episodes.

Smallville I stopped watching for over a year. What made me stop was when they killed off John Kent. That storyline pissed me off entirely. I have season 6 & 7 on dvd now that I bought a few weeks ago (they were on sale), so I'm going to give it a try again. Any Clark/Lana stuff also makes me gag, but I usually just try to ignore it.

I did just watch an episode about Clay and Sara that I liked but overall I just can't handle it.

- Destruction of the Characters
- Recycled Storylines
- Couples get too forced/boring

I very rarely stop watching a show because I don't like a certain couple or something to that effect. I usually can find something really good to enjoy about the show at any time. One Tree Hill though, for example, has just gotten old, has silly writing (Dan's heart being eaten by a dog...) and there is nothing there to really enjoy.

I stop watching when they recycle the same storyline over and over. Or the entire cast of characters have slept with everyone. Or they force drama to try and make it interesting.

I don't mind when couples I don't necessary like are together. I always try to find something else I like about a show besides a certain one or two couples.

I stopped watching One Tree Hill even though I was a fan since the premiere night in 2003. But after both Chad and Hilarie left it just was the last straw. It should have ended after S4, high school graduation.
