not much if you evaluate like bikes. there is only 1 bike on the smith and wesson site which is close in price of the trek bike....
however, i would never buy an aluminum bike, ever.
ie, the $1000 trek is 24 gear ratios (i don't say speeds as you never really use all the ratios) and the $1109 s&m has 27. thus a more expensive deraleur is needed for the s&m....
