Like most consumers i once looked to the resolution to tell me what was good. after thurough research i now understand what makes 720 lines better than 480 and worse than 1080, and at what distance those difference are noticable, as well as how different they are. i learned thruough research why progressive scan is better than intermitant scan, and what a contrast ratio is (as well as what a good one is, and what the numbers really mean). yet i find myself walking intoa store, with a 1080p tv with a 3000000:1 contrast ratio and looking no better than a 720p tv with 60k:1 contrast ratio sitting right next to it. aside from the refresh rate (im assuming 120hz for both) i cant imagine why it should be that way. the colors are the conclusion ive come to. the contrast ratio indicates the brightness of the colors, and depths of black, and the resolution indicates the sharpness. but why, why do the colors still look better on the tv with lesser stats!!! how can this be!?!?!?!
