I'm starting college next week at NJIT and I'm enrolled as a mechanical engineering major. I originally chose this because I realized in high school how much I love math and physics. However, looking at the major now, I'm worried that I won't enjoy the actual designing and creating aspect of it...only the math and conceptual physics part.
So, I'm considering switching to a major in physics, with a concentration in astrophysics. Is this a relatively good idea at all? Is it true that I'd absolutely need more than a bachelor's degree to even get a job in that field?
Or am I worrying over nothing? I kinda just wanna know what I should expect from both majors/careers.
Thanks.
