What made you decide to join the military?

After high school, college and law school I was considering becoming an Air Force JAG. Ever since I was little I've wanted to become a lawyer. One day, I sat down with my dad and watched the t.v. show JAG and I wished that I could be like them, just the thought of serving my country and doing something I loved appealed to me. I've been going back and forth what I want to do in life and becoming a JAG has always stuck out in my mind. I always admire people in the military and I have always wanted to do something to serve my country. I also love planes and I want to travel, so I thought I could maybe become a JAG later in life, but then I realize the hardship it could put on my family if I was gone for half of the year. So, I was wondering, what made you decide to join the military and do you ever regret it? How exciting is it to be in the military? (I mean is it mostly exciting or is it boring)

Thank you for your opinions and answers
