Always have extra firm tofu around the house. The brands is not always that relevant. It is very rare I ever use any other type of tofu.

This is good for scrambles, stiry fry, salads, etc.. Virtually what you would normaly use meat in, you can substitute tofu. It is a staple for sure.

Tempeh is nice to in all of the above and makes great sandwhiches. (try making a tempeh reuben..yum!)

Always have rice and beans on hand too. Easy to make in bulk and a good snack.

Good luck and good for your mom taking you. That is supportive! :)

Oh let me add tofu lasts a long time. There will be an expiration date on the package. You can by alot at once, and freeze tofu in package for later use as well.

Okay so i am new to this whole vegan thing and have been living off frozen morning star, boca, and PB&J :(

I am starting to stock up on "real food".

so i guess i will need things like new Milk, Cheese, Eggs, Chocolate, and Meat substitutes.

I already figured i will need Nutritional yeast ,Seitan,Vitamin B12, Tofu, and maybe Miso and Tempeh.

Is there anything else i need to pick up from the store? Is there anything i listed hat i dont need?

And I know the differance between Silk, firm and Exra firm tofu but what kind(s) do you use the most and how long does it last before it goes bad (how long is its shelf life)??

Im 15 and dont have a really supportive family but my mom is taking me to a health food store so i need to get everything i need at one shot because i cant go back to the store till maybe a week or 10 days.

Thank you :))))
