What kinds of fish cannot be in the same tank as a betta fish?

I want to get an aquarium (I have a 10-gallon upstairs) and I need to know what kinds of fish CANNOT be with betta fish. Please answer.
everyone says i can't put them with gouramis, however i had bettas with gouramis before and they got along just fine. lol
 
Other anabatids (the family to which bettas belong). This means no other bettas, gourami or paradise fish. Because of the long bright tails of male fancy guppies, these may get nipped at as well and should be avoided.
