I'm going to start training for a 120 mile ride from washington, dc to Bethany beach. I'm just getting into cycling because some of my friends have ridden in this race before. I'm the kind of person that once I get into something new I tend to stick with it so I would be fine spending a little more money for a nicer bike that will last me awhile and will still be good for me after I've gotten better and get more into it. What should I be looking for in a bike and what are some good brands? If I live in DC would it be smart to just ask people who work at one of the many local bike shops what they think I should get?
What kind of road bike should I buy?
