what kind of nail polish remover do salons use?

they swipe like once or twice and the whole nail is cleaned off without a trace of polish left, but here i am scrubbing away for like a minute trying to clean one nail
is it bad to use pure acetone? why wouldnt they sell it in like cvs or something?
