What kind of movies usually had Dolby Stereo Spectral Recording?

You know the movies that at the end it would say "DOLBY STEREO" with an "SR" box, and it a "U" formation it would read "SPECTRAL RECORDING."
Not WHAT MOVIES, but rather what TYPE of movies had that when they were released in cinema?
