he truck has a 5.9, V8, Gas, 4X4. I recently bought this truck & was advised by some (mechanics included) to use 10w30. Others (mechanics included) suggested I use 5w40 or 10w40. I am going for an oil change tomorrow & I really want to know the best oil to use. This truck is my baby and I want to take the best care of it that I can. The mileage is high - 170,000 and I live in a very hot & humid area.
In the past 2 weeks my truck has been going through some oil - it is not dripping on the ground nor does it seem to be coming out of the muffler/tail pipe. I will hopefully find out the reason tomorrow at the trucks "checkup".
I know there are mechanics awake at this hour, or almost awake, because a lot of you guys start work early!
