...and one wants to sell? I live in the United States. A person that I know has co-inherited a house along with her mother. She wants to sell the house - or at least her half - but her mother doesn't want to sell the house, but she also can't afford to buy out the other half. The person I know can't afford to maintain the house or pay for the taxes and after she inherited the house her mother moved into it with her, which in an even larger problem. Can this person force her mother to sell the whole house on the open market or is she stuck in some kind of real estate limbo, eternally doomed to either live with her mother or pay for taxes and maintenance on a house that she doesn't live in.
