I have some now former renters that I need to take to court. They owe me about $5500 in missed rent and damages to the house they rented from me. They've pretended that they are going to make good a few times now but I no longer believe anything cause all they do is lie. I have them in collections (not full collections...just the first step) but I think I would rather take them to court. I have emails where they acknowledge the debt and act like they are going to pay it. I am wondering what kind of attorney I would want to contact about some;thing like this. Also I like in MN but the house is in IL...the renters now moved to TX...am I totally screwed cause of our locations being all over the place? I assume I would take them to court in IL where the infractions occurred.
Yeah I haven't had much luck with small claims. So it is a real estate lawyer that would handle that though?!!?
