I was watching the dramatization of the life of Hattie Jacques the English carry on comedienne. Apparently she had a passionate affair with a used car salesman and he moved in but her husband John Le Mesurier of Dad's Army fame stayed on living in the attic, right above the bedroom of his wife and her lover presumably hearing everything. Their two boys were also in the house. I just can't understand how he could stand it - can anyone explain this?
What kind of husband lets his wife's lover move in?
