What kind of guitar is best?

Ok well im looking at picking up a new hobby of playing guitar. I was just wondering if anyone knows what is the best guitar to get. I want an electric guitar but not sure what kind is the best. Also just wondering do I need anything else besides the guitar if I just want to play to myself. Also how hard is it to learn how to play? If there is anything else I should need to know before I start please let me know.

I think you should start on an accoustic guitar first.

If you have an ear for music, you can teach yourself by playing along with your favorite songs, or get a copy of "Guitar for Dummies" just to get the basic chords.

Get the best, get a Gibson guitar.
