I am getting a fish tank this weekend and I want to buy a snail, only like 1 because I hear they breed very quick and can be hard to get rid of. 2-3 pincher crabs, 2-3 ghost shrimp, 2-3 of these cool frogs they are blueish. and then I am getting a chubby frog but that goes in another little cage i guess? and I am getting all this at Petsmart. what kind of tank should i get to hold all of that? how many gallons? and what animals can go together and what cant? I can't get a big tank. What kind of food do these pets eat? thanks!
all of the pets are from petsmart and i doubt they would sell poisonous frogs and i am trying to figure out what size of tank i will need!
thanks again.
p.s. will one snail multiply??

well the crabs will eat the shrimp first off.. and probably the frogs too... crabs are omnivorous and will eat just about anything they can catch, and anything that sleeps can be caught.. and any sort of blue frog is probably poisonous and will probably, in close proximity, kill the rest of the stuff.. especially if he's caught by a crab and eaten.. lol

but I'm not really sure, these are just first impressions.. i ran a big SW reef with coral and fish for many years and had a few run-ins with things eating other things (you'd be amazed).

my best friend was the saltwater forums, and I suggest you go there too.. they are the best.. : )

You will not be able to buy all these fish at one time! PetSmart will refuse to sell you any fish if you are buying them at the same time as you are buying the tank, etc. (I was a Pet Care manager at PetSmart for many years). Your new tank needs time to settle before you add any living creature! (Give it a week, at least). I would recommend a 40 gallon or larger (ideally) tank for what you plan to keep in there. And it is likely that your crabs will prey on the frogs.
Your tank needs to cycle as well. For info on nitrogen cycle, go here: http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/biologicalcycle/a/nitrogencycle.htm. You should only add only 1-3 animals at a time in a tank and give each new addition(s) at least two weeks to settle in before adding anything else.

Please do some more research before you take responsibility for the lives of these ceatures.
