What kind of dancing goes on during a high school valentines day party?

My girlfriend wants me to come, were both sophomores. I doubt alot of grinding goes on with teachers moderating it. So is there any dances i have to learn? What would be an ideal gift to give my gf?
 
You would think, but there is a lot of grinding. People will do it anyway, then next thing you know everyone is doing it.
