What kind of car should I get?

21 yr old college student....I just got a 2nd job so im gonna save up for a dwn payment on a car. So i wanted to save $1,000 by the summer to put down. Ive seen how cheap a dodge magnum is now since they dont make em ne more. I also want to get an SUV, nothing too expensive i want my payments to be under $300/mo. A friend of mine says get a race car (something like an integra or civic) instead of an SUV..i dont know i have a couple months to decide, this will be my 3rd car and hopefully last for a few years

You might like a truck. My Ford F150 is $275 a month. It is a regular cab with an 8' bed. I put a camper shell on it, for a place to sleep when I camp.
 
Jeeps! ... cheap, good gas mileage for an SUV, can off-road the crap out of them, and make sure you get one with the inline 6 motor.... they last forever. I fully recommend a cherokee. Late 80's or 97-01. My payments are 200 a month.
